Why are business people reacting in panic to the new variant of Omicron Covid-19?
I don’t think businesses themselves are panicking. But we are getting tighter lockdowns for the variants that can “walk through” vaccines.
The problem is that the new variants don’t have the same alleles as have ben targeted by the vaccines. This is because the vaccines do not target the alleles involved in virulence, mortality and morbidity, or the reproduction mechanism within the human body.
I have no idea where you live, but I have seen no panic at all by the business people in my area. Mostly they are irritated because of the difficulty of getting their laid off employees to come back to work. That hurts their bank accounts, a major problem to anyone who owns a business.
